Enchanted Bird At The Enchanting Cottage

When I arrived here, the sweet lady Susan who helps visitors get acquainted with their cottage, stopped in our tracks.

Not to take in the clean air, the spacious yard or abundant wildlife, lurking behind the brush...

or to marvel at the attention paid to detail in the restoration of the little bungalow.....

No there was something else..........that heron.....watching the two of us....from the backyard...

We didn't want to move too quickly, not wanting to frighten it. I mean really we were invading it's territory!
Hmmmmmmmm....odd...no matter how closely we approached, it didn't move...by now you have all figured out why... that bird turned out to be a yardbird!

Maybe I can get a little sympathy from these critters ( although I don't think I would want to get on their bad sides ;o)

I did take time to whip up Blackberry Cobbler from the stash that I brought down with me. I found an incredible recipe that include CHOCOLATE in the mix........mmmmmmmmmmmouth watering indeed!

Hopefully Mr. Strawberry Mallard and crew will remember to keep bringing them in while I am away..and hopefully Becky & Company will NOT be nibbling on anything edible in the garden either!!
