OK while we await the departure of de' bug, I have to keep the storyline moving here....very thick, humid, icky, stinky, stuffy, damp, heavy air here....kinda like the Seven Dwarfs of the atmosphere!
While the weather for most people may seem a bit dreary, it's really the perfect weather for nature photography!
After my Mother- In- Law passed I wanted to honor her with an appropriate addition to our prayer garden...
With Mother's Day approaching quickly, I wanted to dedicate the garden to her. I found the bulbs....and then I found this......
The only one at one of the local garden centers! I know that her Irish eyes were smiling down on that garden center at that very moment....
We plan on planting more bulbs at the cemetery this coming weekend.....we know that she'll like that. I have always felt closer to family and friends that are no longer with us through gardening.
How do you honor and feel close to loved ones who have departed all too soon?

When Irish Eyes are Smiling

When Irish Eyes are Smiling
Music by Ernest R. Ball
Lyrics by Chauncey Olcott and George Graff, Jr.
When Irish eyes are smiling
Sure tis like a morning spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter,
You can hear the angels sing. When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.
There's a tear in your eye,
and I'm wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such power in your smile,
sure a stone you'd beguile,
So there's never a teardrop should fall.
When your sweet lilting laughter's like some fairy song,
And your eyes twinkle bright as can be,
You should laugh all the while and all other times smile,
And now smile a smile for me.
Chorus:
When Irish eyes are smiling Sure it's like a morning spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter,
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.
Happy St.Paddy's Day in Heaven Mom!
Happy St. Paddy's Day!!!
Even though we all know that this a day to celebrate your Irish heritage, Angus always feels as though he's close enough to Ireland to join in on the fun!

I honestly think it has something to do with his eyes opening on St. Patrick's Day , 1999. What I enjoy about puppies at that stage is that you can pretty much make them look as foolish as you want....they just kinda roll with it ( or roll over...or topple :o)
You can always find him at the table sniffing out the Guinness....muttering about why we are having corned beef and cabbage...and not bangors and mash....humph!
However you decide to celebrate today, remember not to drink and drive out the you know what...........
