Last count via phone call we were holding at 8......can't wait to see who wins the puppy pool..meanwhile we had to break the news very gently to Becky that she was going to have to take a back seat to her new siblings...I think that she can handle it, don;t you think....and if they are half as sweet as the Beckaroo.... well we just know that ANY puppy from Rocky Creek will be special!

Spring Cleaning

"Well Becky we have a lot of laundry to do today....are you ready to help your Ma?"
"Uh....yea I guess so....what do I have to do?"
"Well you know we have to sort all the clothes, whites from colors, dark from light.......we have a great new detergant that is all natural, no harsh chemicals to add to the environment...see Sweetie?"
"Wait a minute you mean we are gonna wash stuff that finally got dirty enough to be comfortable in........BOL...you gotta be kiddin' me "
"How about if I watch you Ma, while I model my Spring wardrobe for ya?"
"I can show off my new haircut from every angle...
"You can tell me how adorable I look...how my eyelashes frame my beautiful eyes pawfectly!!!""....how simply innocent I look....I mean really Ma, maybe we can get Gus to help us......"
"..better yet why don't we post a couple of pix of me and him? "...Well we could do that, but you keep hamming it up so much, poor Gus never gets to be top dog anymore!"
"Gus I'm sorry.....I don't mean to take you out of the spotlight....you know I love ya, right buddy?"
".......aww that's okay puppy....every dog has its day......I think today just might be yours!"

Becky's Excellent Spring Adventure

Well we FINALLY made it to the groomer today...
..and someone did not relish the treatment....

......even though they love her at Maratime (hey, what's not to love about our little girl?)

I have to say that she didn't look too happy after her SPA day((i.e. "can we go now Ma.......puleezzzzzzzzze????)

"Hey Becky, how about a trip to PETSMART???????????"
"Whoaaaa..I remember that place..what are we gonna buy today Ma?"

How about having a once around the joint first....."
wait Ma...... I think I see something cool over there!"Oh yea..I love these duds......puppy dog rain gear for the Spring..and with lil rubber ducky buttons ....tooooo cute...

"Now I'm ready for any ol' rainy day....I kinda look like the Gorton Fisherman, don't I?"How about this cool shirt for my brother Angus, Ma?
"Well Becky, while you are browsing there at the treats, I may run over and check out that Doggie Day Camp for you ;o)

Yikes
.......DOGGIE DAY CAMP...not my cup of tea if you all know what I mean...."

".....maybe if I keep a low profile, she'll let that idea slide............not that I wouldn't like trip down that doggie slide......BOL!"

"I think those stuffies might do the trick for me Ma...
......WAIT....I KNOW WHAT I WANT!!!"

"One of those sweet treats will hit the spot just fine!""Look at them all!!!!!!"
"Becky don't you think that it would be better to get something that you and Angus will BOTH enjoy?"

"Uh..yes I guess so....man I am dog tired......whaddaya say we put our paws to the pavement and hit the road Ma?"

Needless to say our little Beckers slept ALL the way home. I thought I would have to carry her in until she saw Gussy dog at the door (you'd think they had not seen each other in a year!) Becky seems to handle being away from Gus better than Gus handles being away from her......typical woman, right ;o)

....but we are now trying to put our selves back together...

Posted by Picasa
because we know that she would want us all to carry on as usual...with the addition of a gentle reminder of what's most important in life.....

........always try to live in the moment....

We promise that the blog winners will be receiving their prizes very soon with a little help from our dear friends and family at Rocky Creek......and tomorrow will be a new day and a very GREEN one at that...so'll we'll see you all tomorrow to show the wearin' of the green ;o)

Thank you to all of you for your kind words and prayers through a very dark period in our life.......it means more than words can ever say!
PLEASE remember to keep the remarkable people of Japan in your prayers...it would be an understatement to say that they are facing this unthinkable tragedy with grace, faith and dignity.

For Debbie...........

I'm not sure what to say......

Our friend and neighbor died suddenly on Monday.
Looking back now, I don't think that our moving here less than a year after she and her family did, was an accident.
We were supposed to live next door to her. Our properties were originally a single lot, when farming too place many years ago. Only fitting that two people who wanted nothing more than to be in their garden, should live here.

You know how it is when you just take things for granted.

Seeing a person smile, as they fill the bird feeders.......calling with excitement when a new blossom opens or a family of baby raccoons are seen sneaking along the fence.

Finding a new recipe that you have to share.......or a sale......or just listening with your heart.

She was the only person who would or could attempt to quiet Becky and Gus.
She was the first person to hold Becky after Joe and I........she never wanted to let her go.

A pure spirit, a gentle soul, a distinct and unique laugh that you would recognize anywhere...........I can't even imagine living here now without her.
At her funeral mass today, the soloist sang this song.

"You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.
I think it sums up everything......rest well now...you will be missed more than you will ever know.......

Crossing The Bridge, Once Again

It never gets easier, does it..........
I had never been with one of mine at home at the end.....all these days, trying to feed, water, medicate, comfort......
I had no idea how much it would take out of everyone......but in the end, I know that we did the right thing......and if I had to do it again, I wouldn;t have it any other way......When she truly believed that it was ok to let go, she left us.

How strange, it seems like only yesterday that she came into our lives.....you all know how it is, how you feel their prescence after they are gone.
The house seems very empty...as quiet as she was, she loved to be with us. I can only hope that we gave her one tenth the amount of love and healing, that she gave to us over the last 11 years.......we will miss her so very much.
