The Hidden Dangers Of Dark Beer

I worked in the garden and the yard for MANY HOURS today ~ 
 
 

.....I raked, I bagged leaves, pruned, clipped, found life returning....and rejoiced!
Then I came in tired but happy and did something that I normally don't do....I had a beer....dark beer...stout....I thought that it was a nice way to end this long day, along with my favorite veggie pizza from Luigi's....

I set the bottle down next to the laptop....
PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
A) I don't normally drink.
B) I set the bottle down next to the laptop, or attempted to.....my little felted friends were sitting where I went to place the bottle.. again please take note... I normally don't drink.

In an attempt to not disturb my little felted friends....I am sure by now you all know where this story is going......
I moved the bottle too quickly...it spilled...only a little, but enough to make the keyboard do this:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...
Then this:

Looks like a secret code doesn't it?

Trust me, it wasn't.

Normally when I see that on the screen it is because one of the cats has been "resting" yet again on the keyboard.
If there is a patron saint for computers, I would ask that you please pray to this saint....I am doing to need divine intervention, to fix this problem.


Moral of the story........
Don't drink and type ;o)

A truly scrumptious desert! As promised our prize is revealed ~ a needle felted pin cushion, with colorful pins! I wonder who the lucky winner will be?

MORE SNOW??? Oh no ~ say it isn't so :o(

 

This dog really does do other things besides sleep on the daybed...really.....honestly....

It appears that once again, we will be paid a visit by Jack Frost, Old Man Winter, or however you refer to that force that brings tons of white stuff.

Red "buttons" Bird knows it.....

 

Blackie aka mooch # 1 knows it

 

They ALL know what's coming.

So the plan here is to get necessary supplies from Wally World ( again ), remove the shovels from the garage ( again ), and get ready to hunker down with my little friend and a BIG cup of cocoa!


 

I would LOVE to know what everyone else is going to do this weekend( besides watch the Superbowl and make chili :o) 

More than likely, my "to do" list is going to look something like this:


1) Shovel the snow form the walkway.
2) Consume hot cocoa.
3) Remove snow from the jeep, which by now is probably about 6".
4) Consume more hot cocoa.
5) Return to the jeep which by now has another 4".
6) Go back inside to warm up for 5 minutes, then start clearing a path for Gus in the backyard ~ this also entails clearing a path for Mooch # 1, aka Blackie and Mooch # 2,aka Winston ( see previous posts.)
7) Repeat #s 1 - 6, several times.

After about 6 hours of this, this is what we are ALL going to be doing here:

 

Have a safe weekend ~ if you get cabin fever, try to grin and bear it....

Waiting For A Mid-Winter Holiday!

One of the best things about Valentine's Day is that it falls smack dab in the middle of the coldest and traditionally, the snowiest month of the year!


Now I don't want to contradict myself ~ I do love the peace Winter brings ~

Happy New Year, Merry Christmas ( to all of my Russian Orthodox pals), and HAPPY THREE KINGS!!!

Well I guess that I really got sidetracked with all of the goings on in our neck of the woods. Nevertheless, one of my New Year's resolutions is to be a GOOD BLOGGER :o)
Now with that in mind, let's start with my new passions.....

1)NEEDLE FELTING!!!! Ever since I discovered this timely art I am really burning the midnight, middle of the night and pre dawn hours. Here a poke, there poke , every where a poke poke.The other night, I had visions of scottie dogs and sweets in my head:

Now the thing is Angus is getting really bored by the whole thing. Even though I continue to try and explain how soothing and spiritual this whole process is, he just yawns and throws his head back on the pillow.

2) Button, button, whose got the button ~ fabric button magnet that is...can't make enough, can't get enough supplies and can't cut out enought teeny tiny pieces of fabric for these:
